Which airport should I fly into?
You can fly into Dublin Airport (DUB) or Cork Airport (ORK).
How do I travel from the airport to Waterford Castle?
There are multiple transportation options! We recommend renting a car as the best way to experience Ireland (especially if you are traveling before or after the wedding). The drive is about an hour and a half from Dublin to Waterford Castle. There are also cabs, busses, trains, and private drivers from Dublin Airport.
Please note, there is a 5 minute ferry ride to access the island (cars accommodated).
Are there enough rooms for everyone to stay on the property?
Yes! We're happy to share that guests can reserve room(s) on Waterford Castle's grounds. The castle rooms are reserved for immediate family and the wedding party. All other guests should reserve the lodge option; which is a 5 minute walk from the castle. The lodges are multiple stories with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a full kitchen.
We highly recommend staying on the property, but if you prefer to stay elsewhere please let us know. For those arriving to Waterford earlier than Friday, April 16th, please reach out to Caroline or Mike and we can help accommodate.
Am I staying at the castle or the lodges?
Given there are limited rooms at the castle, unless you were contacted by Caroline or Mike to reserve a room in the castle, please reserve a lodge. For those staying in lodges, please reserve your stay with Waterford Castle before January 30, 2027.
What will the weather be like?
Ireland's weather changes on a dime! The April highs are typically around 55 degrees and the lows are typically around 45 degrees. Rain is common on this island, so pack accordingly!
We have yet to determine if the ceremony will be indoors or outdoor. We will update this page once confirmed.
Do you have a registry?
Registry and gift details to follow. Please check the website for updates in the upcoming months.
Are children allowed?
While we love your little ones, our wedding is an adult-only event.
Why Ireland?
Caroline and Mike both have some Irish roots, being McCaffery's and McAleer's. Also, our first overseas trip, as a couple, was to London and Ireland. Ireland was a special and unforgettable experience together. We knew immediately it was the place we wanted to get married.
